The client’s vision for this two-unit dwelling included a communal garden featuring a spacious lawn for children to play. To counteract the symmetry of the building, I proposed a design characterized by clean and distinctive geometry. The ellipse becomes the center point by bringing a new order by connecting the two entrances, the existing upper deck and the new lower deckUtilizing recycled fieldstone and gravel at the entrances added a sustainable touch We preserved the existing mature trees and introduced a forest of white birches to provide both depth and privacy from neighbors.
